Terms of Service

Last updated: April 14, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of lixiaolai.com (the “Site”), operated by Li Xiaolai (“I”, “me”, “my”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Accounts

To access certain features (such as purchasing courses), you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as needed. I reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

2. Content and Intellectual Property

All original content on the Site — including articles, books, course materials, and design — is the intellectual property of Li Xiaolai unless otherwise noted. Some content is published under open-source licenses, as indicated on the relevant pages.

You may read, share links to, and quote brief excerpts of freely available content for personal, educational, or non-commercial purposes, provided you give appropriate attribution. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works of paid content without explicit written permission.

3. Purchases and Payments

Purchases on the Site are processed through Stripe. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe’s terms of service. All prices are displayed in the currency indicated at the time of purchase.

Refunds

Digital content (courses, downloadable materials) is generally non-refundable once accessed, because of the nature of digital delivery. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing purchased content, please contact me through the About page and I will work to resolve it. Refund requests for exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s infrastructure or other users’ access
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest content in bulk without permission
  • Redistribute or resell paid content (courses, premium articles)
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity

5. User-Generated Content

If the Site allows you to submit content (such as comments or community posts), you retain ownership of your content but grant me a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it on the Site. You are solely responsible for the content you submit, and it must not violate any third party’s rights or any applicable law. I reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

6. Third-Party Services

The Site integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (CDN and security), GitHub and Google (OAuth authentication), and Sentry (error monitoring). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. I am not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. I do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Educational content and opinions expressed on the Site are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional financial, legal, or other advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Li Xiaolai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Site. My total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid me, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Li Xiaolai harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Site.

10. Modifications

I may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, I will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which Li Xiaolai resides, as updated from time to time. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
